Winterlong is a quiet meditation on the early hours of winter—when snow falls softly, steam rises from morning cups, and the world is still lit only by the faint blue glow of dawn. These paintings are rooted in the hush of slow mornings: melting icicles, candlelight flickering against frosted windows, and the warmth of a fire breaking the chill. But beneath the softness lies something deeper—an invitation to linger in the in-between.
This collection reflects the soul’s winter, too—those dim seasons of uncertainty, waiting, and quiet ache. Yet in each canvas, there is the steady assurance of light to come. Winterlong honors the beauty of resting in darkness, trusting the process, and paying attention to the flickers of hope that whisper: this won’t last forever. Inspired by Psalm 18:28, these works are a testament to faith in the God who turns darkness into light.
You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.
